Ok, so you have heard from us about our great SportBoard product. Now it is time to hear from the coaches.
Hear from coaches using the SportBoard
"Sorry for the delay in my response to your request for feedback on the sportsboard. It is a tremendously helpful tool. I
use it all the time. I use it before each game to introduce the starting line up, and once the game begins, to diagram ( or
re-create) specific events or plays which require visuals for proper explanation. I would definitely recommend the board to
other coaches. I think there is a market for a product. Paul S., MNSA "
"Michael, Glad to give you my opinion. I have used the Board quite extensively and have used it for all the reasons listed
below. I have used it with my Over 30 team for restarts, and have used it mostly with my U-12 girls team. Its' biggest benefit
is mostly for formations and tactics within that formation. Most recently in the playoffs, we had the traditional 4-4-2 set
up and in the event we went down a goal, I had the girls positions marked out with their initials for a 3-4-3. They could
see how the alignment looked and made it much easier for them to understand. I highly endorse your board and wish you good
luck with it. It is a valuable tool. Sounds like the Soccer Coaches Convention and a booth is in order. best regards, Steve,
TE Soccer"
"I still use my SportBoard with my U16 girls- they have no problem with it. I use it for line-ups each and every game. Best,
it is the most effective way to share and involve your assistant coaches and get their input. We make the line-up, put the
cover on, and then go talk to the girls. We use the white board for points of emphasis, things about the game. Actually,
this is mostly all done at home before the game and everything survives the ride there and we simply remove the whiteboard
lid thing. Thanks !"
" A few board meetings ago, Mike came in and presented a coaching tool called "SportsBoard". It is a very nice large board
with magnets and dry erase that helps to illustrate plays and positioning and lineups. It aids the coach and makes the game
more fun to learn for the kids. I have used mine with both my U-12 and U-14 teams and it is very effective. I would like to
buy one each for our U-9 teams and get their input on it. I think it would help them and the kids. The cost is , which isn't
very much when you see the Sportboard. It will last well through u-17 years. It's not a lot of money, but if our U-9 coaches
like it and endorse it as I have then I would recommend it to our other coaches. Ken
"Mike, I use mine every game.Love it! Coach K
"As far as the Sportsboard, I love it. I use it at most practices and games. Any time there is something I want to explain
to the whole team I pull out the old Sportsboard. I have a clipboard that is handy for one or two players but not very good
for communicating to a group. The players initials on the magnets are cute and the kids like it, but most of the time I am
rushing to show the team something and don't pay any attention to what is on the magnet. The only drawback to your product
is the price. It has to be somebody who very serious about coaching to spend the . I would imagine that the upcoming coaches
conference would be a good place to market the board. Why aren't you the "Sportsboards Guy" and sell to Field Hockey, Lacrosse,(etc.)
coaches. EZ teams would be a good spot to advertise to all the sports. Good luck! Tom
" Hi Mike, I have a survival story for your Sportsboard. This past weekend I had the last game on our soccer field and
was responsible for getting the corner flags back in storage. As the storage area is only a block down the road I threw the
flags in my trunk and left the trunk open. When I turned out of the field onto the road my daughter told me something had
flown out of the trunk. We looked back to see the Sportsboard lying in the middle of the road. I quick stopped the car but
by the time I got to the board three cars had done a direct hit on it going 45 miles an hour. I thought for sure the board
would be smashed to pieces, but lo and behold, when I picked it up there were only a few scratches on the wood frame. Great
job on the construction! If it can take that kind of abuse I know it will be up to the abuse the kids give it. Sincerely,
Tom K
"Hi Michael, After having used the sportboard this Spring season here are some inputs: Players like to see their names
and where they are supposed to be playing. Avoids confusion on substitution. Size makes it easy for everyone to see. Can prop
it up like a teepee using the cover so players can see it constantly during a game. Coach can keep track of who is supposed
to be where on the field. Dry erase capability good to diagram plays. Tough though when it rains - then use the magnets. Brian"
<p> "Hi Mike, As you know, soccer keeps my life very busy! The board is great! The kids love it and they are always
standing around looking for their positions for the game. Its a great visual for them to understand their positions. I must
learn to set up the board before I get to the field! If its not set, they start making requests (all at once) which makes
it impossible to think. Its fun to use since it gets the kid's attention. The immediately look for "their" magnet
and get upset if its on the sidelines! Since this is our first year of travel and thus, the offside rule, I have had plenty
of chances to use the board at practices. I showed the board to the travel director of our club. He liked it, but thought
it would be better if there was a field that you could use dry markers on. I know that could be a problem on the board, but
possibly it would be a good idea to use the lid in that fashion. I planned to show it to the entire board in November. Who
knows, maybe you'll get some orders. Kathy
