Batteryonesource (ask for John Dufour) 888-571-7867

These folks were highly recommended,  buy from the smaller internet store fronts like these folks, VERY knowledgeable about their products and their installation.

Wilson Electronics Tech Support

The Batteryonesource folks were great.  Small and caring company.  They all used to be ATT technicians and formed their own company.  The folks at Wilson Electronics spoke highly of them  - they knew their stuff and rarely called back to Wilson with questions.

Wilson Electronic tech support was excellent too to research their products.  You do not buy from them, but they were a wealth of knowledge to a DIY guy like me.

The following details what I did and bought with regard to improving on board cellular performance.

I opted for a "direct connect" amplifier, less cost, less hardware, and the best signal performance.  It works while plugged into the broadband card on my laptop OR it works when plugged into my phone.   I bought two different smaller cables to connect the amplifier to my phone or my broadband card.  Your need to get the cables for your phone.

When plugged into laptop, I have excellent cell phone reception with Skype to make unlimited calls in america or to canada for less than $3 per month.  I did not buy the version where you need to install a second antenna in the cabin to serve multiple cell phones.

I returned the 20 foot cable and opted for the 75 feet low loss heavily (1/2 inch) shielded cable.

I mounted the Marine antenna on top of the mizzen mast.  Ran the cable down, out near ceiling liner of aft head, through liner into engine room, around front of engine, around water heater, under floor, forward to sette on port side, into settee locker, up into roller door locker, and cable ends at nav table/ice chest top.
